Privacy Policy

TimeToTrivia LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates TimeToTrivia: Emoji Games, including its iMessage extension and optional custom keyboard (together, the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, how we use it, and the choices you have. We built the App to need as little personal information as possible: there are no user accounts, and we never sell your data.

The short version

No account or sign-up. You play and create using an anonymous, random ID generated on your device.
No ads, and no tracking you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Our optional keyboard never records, stores, or transmits what you type, and makes no network connections at all.
We use a little privacy-friendly analytics to see which features are used and whether people return — never tied to your real identity.

Information we handle

Information you provide

Display name. When you finish a quiz you can enter a name shown on leaderboards. It can be anything — it doesn’t have to identify you.
Quiz content you create. Titles, emoji puzzles, drawings, answers, alternate answers, and hints you author and choose to send. We upload this so the friends you share with can play it.

Information collected automatically

Anonymous player ID. A random identifier (UUID) generated and stored on your device. It lets us record one attempt per challenge and credit leaderboard scores without knowing who you are. It is not your name, email, Apple ID, or a device advertising identifier.
Gameplay data. Attempt status, solve time, and hint usage, used to build per-challenge leaderboards.
Subscription status. Whether you have an active “Unlimited Access” subscription, so premium content unlocks. Purchases are processed by Apple; we never receive your full payment details.
Basic product analytics. Aggregate, pseudonymous usage events — for example that a game type was started or a screen was opened, and whether the App was reopened in a later week (retention). These are keyed to the anonymous player ID, not to your identity.

The custom keyboard (important)

Our optional system-wide keyboard offers fonts and an emoji browser. You may enable “Allow Full Access” for it. We use Full Access only to copy an emoji image to your clipboard when you tap it, and to read which emoji packs you own. The keyboard does not log, store, collect, or transmit your keystrokes or anything you type, and it makes no network connections. We never have access to text you type in other apps.

How we use information

We use the information above to run the create → send → play → leaderboard loop; remember your unlocked content and subscription; keep the App working and fix problems; and understand, in aggregate, which features are popular and whether the App stays useful over time. That’s it — no advertising, no profiling, and no sale of data.

Service providers

We share limited information with vendors who process it on our behalf, only to provide the App:

Apple — App Store distribution and in-app subscription processing.
Supabase — hosts the database that stores challenges, leaderboards, display names, and gameplay data.
RevenueCat — helps us manage and measure subscriptions (receipts and subscription status).
PostHog — privacy-friendly product analytics (the aggregate usage and retention events described above).
Cloudflare — hosts this website.

These providers are bound to use the information only to provide their services to us. We do not sell personal information, and we do not permit these providers to use it for their own advertising.

Tracking and your choices

We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies, and we do not use the device advertising identifier (IDFA). Because of this, the App does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission. You can reset your anonymous ID at any time by deleting and reinstalling the App, and you can manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings.

Data retention

We keep challenges, leaderboards, and related gameplay data for as long as needed to operate the App, and analytics in aggregate. You can ask us to delete data associated with your anonymous player ID (see Contact); because there are no accounts, you may need to provide details that let us locate the data.

Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect information, including encrypted connections to our backend. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date.
